I’ve been practicing yoga for just over eighteen months now, and I’m still not very good. At all. I’ve tried a few teachers, studied a lot of yoga philosophy and watched a lot of instructional videos. I’ve practiced at home and in studios. I’ve questioned my practice, struggled to get the “hang” of it, and then given up and gone back to what I felt was a more “stable” version of yoga: running. Throughout the course of many years, I have tried to develop the skills to do a yoga pose correctly. I have tried so many times on so many different poses and each time I have failed. I have tried using Youtube videos and books as my guide to get better and each time I have failed. I had always been told that yoga is hard but I had not realized just how hard until I had tried it.
